Breathwork
Accessing Your Lifeforce
Empowering you to heal, awaken, and thrive
What is breathwork?
Breathwork is so much more than just breathing! The intentional practice of using your breath can influence your physical, emotional, and energetic state. It may sound simple, and it is, but conscious breathing can be profoundly transformative.
Originating from pranayama, the ancient Indian science of breath control, breathwork is now increasingly supported by modern science. Research confirms what yogis have long understood: how we breathe shapes how we feel, think,
and function.
When you breathe with awareness and rhythm, you can regulate your nervous system, process and settle emotions, increase oxygen flow, shift your internal state – and so much more. It’s a simple, accessible, and powerful way to restore balance and ignite meaningful change.
As a certified SOMA Breath® Instructor, I combine breathing techniques with guided visualisation, and therapeutic music. This unique approach can activate your body’s natural “inner pharmacy” of feel-good chemicals and create deeply blissful states – giving you space to reset, reprogram, and reconnect with
your full potential.

What to expect during a breathwork session
Each breathwork journey is a multi-sensory experience designed to awaken your body, balance your nervous system, and elevate your state of being. Whether in a group or 1:1 setting, sessions are fully guided, accessible to all levels, and crafted to leave you feeling calm, energised, and deeply connected.
Body activation
We begin by warming up the body with dynamic movement. This may include yoga, “neurobic” (brain-activating) exercises, dance, shaking, and aum chanting. These techniques stimulate blood flow, release physical tension, and awaken your vitality. This stage is about embodiment: feeling into your body’s energy and clearing the path for deeper transformation. You’ll start to feel more open, relaxed, and fully present.
Rhythmic breathing & intermittent hypoxia
Next, you’ll be guided through structured breath patterns set to uplifting, rhythmic music. These cycles include periods of breath retention known as intermittent hypoxic training (IHT), a safe and powerful method that mimics the effects of altitude training. This is where the breath becomes your tool to activate your “inner pharmacy” with a flood of natural feel-good chemicals, balancing hormones, and emotional release. Throughout, I’ll guided your visualisations, using music, suggestion, and breath to help you step into a vision of your highest self. In this expanded state, you can shift your belief systems, integrate emotions, and align with your deeper purpose.
Integration
Time is allowed for integration, reconnection, and grounding. You will be able to go into the rest of you day with your intention from a calm, coherent, and elevated state.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience to join a session?
No experience is necessary. Breathwork is fully guided and accessible to all levels. Whether it’s your first session or part of a deeper practice, you’ll be
supported throughout.
Is breathwork safe for everyone?
Slow rhythmic breathing techniques are safe to be to be used for anyone and
can be beneficial for all individuals. This is the type of breathing for the majority
of my sessions.
I will usually incorporate some breath holds (kumbhaka) and sometimes a faster pace of breathing. These breathing techniques should not be practiced in the following cases:
-
During pregnancy
-
Severe/critical diseases or infections if it impairs your ability to breathe
-
Severe uncontrolled hypertension (usually after a heart attack)
-
Organ failure or late-stage terminal illness
-
If you have epilepsy, a pacemaker, or irregular heartbeat
(except if your doctor gives you specific permission)
Please note that some conditions, such as tinnitus or hernias, may be aggravated by prolonged breath holds or faster breathing rhythms, so careful attention to technique is required.
I can advise more on these recommendations if you have any questions
or concerns.
How often should I do breathwork?
Any time you bring your awareness to your breath, you are doing breathwork! In terms of structured practice, some people benefit from regular sessions, while others come when they feel called. Like other holistic practics, such as meditation or bodywork, consistency can deepen the effects – but even a single session can be powerful.
I am building a library of breathwork sessions on my YouTube channel. These are safe to follow on a daily basis, should you feel called!
What might I feel during a session?
Everyone’s experience is unique. You may feel tingling, temperature shifts, emotional release, deep stillness, or a sense of lightness. Some people enter meditative or visionary states, while others simply feel relaxed and reset.
There's no right or wrong way to feel.
